- Sondra GreeneSondra began dancing at the age of four. Sondra won many championships all over the United States and competed in the World Irish Dancing Championships. While practicing law she also passed her TCRG examination and opened the dance school in 1993, which continues to thrive to this day. While raising two boys (Aidan and Mick) she obtained her ADCRG license to adjudicate in dancing. Sondra judges all over the United States, Canada, and Ireland.Sondra is currently working as an attorney, but continues with her passion of teaching dancers from beginner to open championship levels. Her dancers have danced successfully at both the North American and World Championships. She loves working with children and has a special passion for team dancing. Sondra is also a great role model for children showing that hard work and dedication pay off and is a go-getter by all means of the word!
- About the SchoolThe school began in 1993 in a small garage with 8 students.
The school has since grown to about 90 students.
- EventsBook the Greene Academy of Irish Dance and make your event an unforgettable one! Our dancers bring a spirit of grace and excellence everywhere they perform. The Greene Academy of Irish Dance is available for performances ranging from school assemblies to nursing home visits to weddings and corporate events.CompetitionsThe students of the Greene Academy of Irish Dance participate in dancing competitions throughout North America including major championships such as the North American Irish Dance Championships and the World Championships. Additionally, dancers perform throughout the year at various events, including the annual Greene Academy benefit concert.FriendshipThrough weekly lessons, dancers are guided towards improvement in skills and techniques and challenged to perform in various competitions. Equally important to the student's enjoyment of dancing, is the establishment of friendships among the dancers, and learning to support each other and work as a team. Team dancing, such as figure dancing, and figure choreography, are emphasized in addition to solo dancing.Class schedule
